Play ball! That's what sixth-grade Buckman Badgers baseball team plans to do. Eddie Malloy and Jake Hatford hope to lead their team to the championship game. But thanks to a mix-up, Mrs. Hatford has to run a charity yard sale the very same day in the Hatford yard.
Wally Hatford, the only non-baseball fan in the family, has to stay home and help watch over the sale tables until the rest of the Hatfords return. Wally is ticked off. On top of that, Caroline Malloy has written a play for a school project and has roped Wally into costarring in it with her.
Then the girls stumble across an embarrassing item from the boys past, and it looks as if the Harfords will be totally humiliated. Leave it to Wally to turn the tables on the girls' scheme and prove who's really in control. Boys rules!
